The ILM held a successful men’s month celebration held on 31 July 2024 at the Fordaville Hall. There was no better way of ending the mens month in style, that to have a local mens month symposium in which deeper men related issues had to be disected.
The Honorable Mayor, cllr MT Myeza, opted to bring all male employees that would include both staff and councilors under one roof to sharpen one another. Amid male councilors that were partner the program were:

  • cllr. S Mazibuko,
  • cllr. S Shabalala,
  • cllr. L Mlele,
  • cllr. Khanyile,
  • cllr U Chetty,
  • cllr. M Nkala cllr. Mbatha
All internal departments that would include the office of the Municipal Manager, public works and basic services, community services, budget and treasury, as well as corporate services. The ILM then sourced services of the critical stakeholder to address all ILM males in attendance. The Department of Health- mens clinic rendered services on site.
Topics that dominated this one day long and vibrant programe were rendered by the following distinguished invitees: who are we as men by Mr. S Mncube, A balance between religion and culture in an African man by Pastor K Mpanza, and mental health reality on men by Mr. J Cele.
This was a groundbreaking program that left every man in the hall with zest to their personality so that life will be worth a living.
The Honorable Mayor, in his closing remark , he applauded the services and presentations of all the invitees that took their time to sternly addresses deep seated challenges that men deal with both publicly and privately on daily basis.
He also confirmed to the speakers that this was not the last time they spend such a memorable day with them, he further stressed that the INkosi Langalibalele Local Municilality would like them to work closely with the current leadership for the betterment of young and old males that lives within the borders of Inkosi Langalibalele Municipality.This hilarious event was officially closed with a prayer by Ps. Khondlo.
