Back to School Program
This year has started with a lot of uncertainties in as far as academic activities are concerned. This was due to the current corona virus scourge that forced schools to reopen in February for the first time in History.
Challenges experienced last year involving the inperson and remote learning. Both teachers and parents had to revisit what is most important for their children and how to best support their development.
It is against this background that, the INkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality in partnership with the Al- Imdaad Foundation conducted vibrant back to school activity in which two local Primary schools were visited on the 09th March 2021.
The Local Mayor Cllr JM Mbele delegated a team from the Municilality in visiting Amathamo Primary school in ward 14 under cllr. SP Vilakazi and Cornfields Primary school in ward 19 under cllr SN Mchunu.
The LTT chairperson Mr VT Nkabinde stated the purpose of visiting schools and gave words of encouragement to both learners and teachers to work hard. While urging learners to respect educator, he stressed that this Municipality will only develop when its citizens are educated.
The following items were given to learners in each individual school 30 school bags, masks, book covers, and stationary packs. Donated by Al-Midaad foundation. School principals appreciated the gifts and learners were very happy on receiving their packages.
