Municipal Profile
Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality is one of the three municipalities situated within the uThukela District in the KwaZulu-Natal province. It was established by the amalgamation of the Imbabazane and uMtshezi Local Municipalities in August 2016.
The municipality constitutes a third of the district and the N3 National Road traverses the municipality. The majority of the municipality’s population is concentrated in urban and farming areas, but there are a few patches of high-density settlements within the informal areas. The municipality boasts well-established industrial, commercial and residential areas, as well as rich agricultural farmlands.
